This position drives industrial performance improvements through the implementation of the principles and methods of Operational Excellence in a sustainable manner.
Manages the establishment of standards and the fostering of a culture of continuous improvement at Fergus to develop projects that increase productivity and reduce costs.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBLITY
- Define and develops deployment of continuous improvement roadmap for each unit in coordination with the plant manager.
- Implements, monitors/oversees, reports, and reviews information and progress of improvement projects, and procedures throughout the manufacturing operation to achieve and support the plant objectives and established KPIs.
- Actively work with all members of the manufacturing management team to develop sound problem identification and resolution skills and an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
- Trains and coaches the plant staff on sustainable implementation of new processes.
- Coordinates with NEW corporate and regional organization.
- Manages information and communication on NEW within the sites.
- Organizes standard management reviews of implementation progress.
- Leads NEW benchmark between units. Identifies, publishes and shares New local best practice
- Manage the generation of continuous improvement (CI) projects with the Fergus team (administrative and operational).
- Contribute to the compliance of the Industrial Balance Score Card (BSC).
- Promote the use of CM methodologies (New)
- Standard Management Routines (SMR), Value Stream Map (VSM), SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die), Problem Solving, TMC, RTC, World Class Manufacturing, etc.
- Participate in the construction of the savings plan and manage its compliance (SMP: Saving Master Plan).
- Promote the development and use of standards in the production lines.
- Develop an incentive program in Fergus to increase the participation of operational personnel.
- Analyze and develop monthly report of the Industry area results and establish improvement plans through the CM (New) methodology.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Generate a culture of financial awareness at Fergus to develop projects that impact the P&L through the application of improvement methodologies (NEW).
- Improve the evaluation of the WCM for the Fergus factory.
- Achieve and maintain the goals of the industry productivity indicators at the Fergus factory.
- Consolidate information and results from the Fergus factory to promote benchmarking.
- Ensure that staff maintain a customer focus approach and follow up on continuous improvements.
- Analyze the results of quality management system audits and propose improvement actions.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering. Specialization and/or Master's degree in project management preferred.
- Knowledge in continuous improvement tools
- Knowledge in manufacturing processes
- Basic knowledge of SAP system
- Knowledge and budget management of the area
- Knowledge and management of methodologies, tools and techniques for process improvement.
- Strategic planning and management indicators
- Management and control of projects that generate added value to the company.
- Manage the correct development, training and coaching of personnel.
- Internal practices and procedures.
- Quality management system.
- Knowledge and application of the Code of Ethics
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Production, Quality, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement.
