Purpose

  • The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities functions. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all equipment, infrastructure, and capital assets while enabling production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • The Technical Manager combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capability—driving operational excellence, building organizational capability, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver sustainable plant performance. This leader sets high standards, fosters accountability, and builds a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and winning as a team.
  • The Technical Manager is responsible for managing plant Projects, Digital and Industry 4.0, Environment and Innovative product launches

Area Of Responsibility

  • Engineering & Capital Projects - Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of capital and expense projects.
    • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
    • Ensure robust engineering standards, documentation, and change management.
    • Drive modernization, automation, and reliability improvements.
    • Partner with operations to align technical investments with plant strategy.
    • Ensure that all Heath and Safety as well as Environmental regulations are complied with.
  • Maintenance & Reliability - Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance systems.
    • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
    • Improve asset uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimize maintenance costs.
    • Establish KPI-driven maintenance management (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance).
    • Ensure effective spare parts and MRO inventory management.
    • Work with other functions of the Plant to be aware of activities and recognize key problems areas and define objectives to improve. Support as needed.
  • Facilities & Infrastructure - Oversee plant utilities, building systems, and infrastructure reliability.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Maintain long-term facility asset management plans.
    • Manage contractors and service providers effectively.
    • Ensure Environmental targets are identified and achieved
  • Leadership & Talent Development
    • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing technical team.
    • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
    • Identify and grow technical talent and succession pipelines.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead through influence and partnership across departments.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Work closely with EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and Production.
      • Act as a trusted peer and strategic partner to plant leadership.
      • Lead and participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
      • Navigate and lead through challenging conversations with clarity and professionalism.
    • Financial & Strategic Accountability
      • Develop and manage annual maintenance and capital budgets.
      • Deliver projects on time and within approved budgets.
      • Drive cost improvement without compromising safety or reliability.
      • Support long-term site master planning and strategic initiatives.
      • Create roadmap for Digital/Industry 4.0 and implement

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field required).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in engineering and/or maintenance leadership within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record managing capital projects and maintenance systems.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance KPIs.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional technical depth combined with practical, hands-on leadership.
  • Strong drive to achieve results and a competitive, performance-oriented mindset.
  • Highly adaptable; thrives in dynamic and changing environments.
  • Courageous communicator who addresses difficult issues directly and constructively.
  • Strong team player who builds trust and collaborates effectively across functions.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or advanced technical certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience in TPM or Reliability Excellence programs.
