Controls Engineer - Contract at Plasman

CONTROLS ENGINEER (15-MONTH CONTRACT)
The Controls Engineer or designate is responsible for repairing equipment in an efficient manner to promote the reduction of downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain control systems and programs to ensure manufacturing efficiency.
- Design and program PLC systems to optimize production processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and control system issues to minimize downtime; repair and maintain systems with respect to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and general repair maintenance within specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production improvements and innovations.
- Conduct regular system evaluations and maintenance to ensure continued process effectiveness.
- Integrate new technologies to enhance existing manufacturing processes.
- Document control specifications, system configurations, and comprehensive maintenance procedures.
- Ensure a personal and associate awareness of all quality and business related operating systems (ISO/IATF).
Qualifications, Skills And Experience We're Looking For
- Post secondary degree or diploma in an electrical, mechanical or related field; a combination of education, training and years working experience will be considered.
- Skilled trade ticket in a provincially or federally recognized trade program
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems is essential.
- Minimum 2 years related working experience, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with various automation software and hardware systems.
This position offers a compensation range of $75,000 – $95,000, dependent on skills and experience.
