Lab Systems Software Developer

We are looking for a Software Developer to support the design, development, and automation of PRCN’s internal Data and Lab Management System.

In this role, you will work directly with laboratory and engineering teams to build and maintain software solutions that support test request workflows, data management, and reporting. A key focus of this position is automating manual processes and translating engineering and lab workflows into efficient, scalable digital systems.

This is a hands-on full stack development role focused on building applications using Angular, C#.NET, and Azure technologies, while improving workflow efficiency, data integrity, and system usability across PRCN.

The Successful Candidate's Responsibilities Will Include

  • Collaborate with PRCN laboratory and engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain web applications using Angular and C#.NET
  • Design and implement automation solutions to reduce manual processes and streamline lab workflows
  • Translate lab test processes and procedures into structured, system-driven workflows
  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations
  • Integrate data from LabVIEW and other systems into centralized data platforms
  • Develop, test, and deploy user-friendly web applications that meet operational requirements
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Document system architecture, workflows, and technical updates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical insights
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and system capabilities
  • Leverage Microsoft Azure to deploy and maintain scalable, reliable applications

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Angular for front-end development and C#.NET for back-end development.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience with SQL databases and database design principles.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledge or experience in Microsoft Azure would be considered an asset.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working with data-intensive or workflow-based systems
  • Experience integrating multiple systems or data sources
  • Exposure to engineering, lab, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience automating business or operational processes
