Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Environmental Services team in New Brunswick. Your role will be to work as a key member of our Atlantic Environmental Services team, in a broad range of responsibilities relating to Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), soil and groundwater remediation programs, environmental spill response, and hydrogeological investigations. The successful candidate will work within our Site Investigation, Remediation & Response practice area, in project teams across various sectors. We are seeking driven, talented, and enthusiastic individuals capable of working independently with a keen interest in the environmental field, looking to advance their career in a globally progressive consulting firm.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members on environmental investigations and remediation projects based primarily in Atlantic Canada, with opportunities to work in other parts of Canada
- Execute a variety of field programs, including, but not limited to, site visits, test pitting, borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, soil vapor surveys, soil and groundwater remediation monitoring, surveying, and sampling of various media
- Carry out office duties such as data management, analysis and interpretation, report preparation, and other general tasks
- Analyze field and technical data and author technical reports (Phase I/II/III ESAs, monitoring reports, Remedial Options Analysis (ROA) reports, Remediation and Risk Management Plans (R/RMPs)
- Lead and/or support the development of proposals, participate in business development activities, and participate in business community-related activities
- Perform project management support tasks such as cost estimates, budget tracking, and status reports
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned, while continuing to develop skills
- Complete applicable company and client-required health & safety training and follow health & safety policies and procedures
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Proven initiative in integrating creativity and innovation in all work tasks
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
- Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, sometimes reporting to different individuals
- Experience using environmental field equipment, GIS-related mobile data collection, and reporting software
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and within short timelines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Willing and able to travel and periodically work extended hours, including evenings and weekends
- Readiness to support other service areas depending on interests and abilities (e.g., aquatics, hazardous building materials, air quality)
- Valid driver’s license
Education and Experience
Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline
A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in conducting field programs for environmental site assessment and/or remediation projects
Prior experience in an engineering or consulting environment is an asset
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
