About The Opportunity

rhi is seeking an experienced

Quantity Surveyor to join the rhi Calgary tea m. An experienced Cost Consultant or Quantity Surveyor will assist in delivering rhi’s project services offering to both external and internal clients while building on rhi’s solid client-partner relationships.

This position is based in the greater Calgary area working in a Hybrid arrangement. This is a Full-time role with a major benefits package.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include

  • Deliver on Project Services engagements to meet client requirements
  • Meeting clients to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility
  • Calculating material quantities and costs, labor costs and an achievable project timeframe
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal working relationships, at all levels of the organization
  • Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects
  • Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures
  • Manage operational performance consistent with agreed objectives and measures
  • Provide strong safety leadership to shape the Business’ culture
  • Participate in industry and other forums to represent rhi and its interest

Qualifications

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, with demonstrated knowledge of Project services (includes: estimating, cost, planning and risk, an appreciation of contracts)
  • Degree qualified, or equivalent with relevant work experience and preferably membership of a recognized professional body (RICS, CIQS, AACE, etc.)
  • Established track record delivering business growth in project services
  • Ability to research and analyze business results, competitive marketplace conditions, and industry trends
  • Possess strong business acumen in addition to well-rounded general management capabilities, including managing budgets and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including proven presentation/pitch abilities to senior audiences
  • Strong customer and commercial focus
