QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Specific Accountabilities
- Support the applied research projects focused on compost stabilization and sustainable reuse and others.
- Assist with generating reliable data to evaluate compost quality and reuse potential.
- Contribute to the development of a compost classification framework.
- Support technical reporting and knowledge dissemination activities.
- Participate in research communication through poster development and presentations during the Student Research Showcase 2027.
Duties
- Assist with field sampling at the Meadow Lake composting site.
- Conduct laboratory tests for physicochemical analysis of compost and other samples.
- Organize and analyze experimental data.
- Support development of a compost classification framework.
- Assist in evaluating compost conditioning methods.
- Contribute to technical reports.
- Prepare a poster and present findings at the Applied Research Student Showcase.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- Enrolled in Environmental Engineering Technology, Applied Science, Agriculture, or a related program.
- Interest in sustainability, composting, or waste management.
- Basic laboratory skills.
- Basic data analysis skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork.
DesiredQualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience with environmental or agricultural laboratory testing.
- Prior exposure to sustainability, composting, or waste management projects.
- Experience with field sampling and data analysis.
