Crestvue is responsible for delivering innovative EMS solutions focused on bringing high-quality care to patients when and where they need it. Since 1973, the team has grown to serve the community by offering basic and advanced life support service delivery.

Yorkton, the hub of east-central Saskatchewan, with a population of approximately 20,000 people offers excellent education, public services and health care, including a major regional hospital with ICU and surgical capabilities. This offers an urban setting with a rural feel which contributes to a high quality of life. Crestvue’s call volume is 4000 annually, and the service has a peak catchment of 50,000 people.

As an employee of Medavie Health Services, we are accountable to our patients and coworkers by participating in and supporting all safety related initiatives, as well as acting in a manner that fosters a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe and respectful workplace.

The Community Paramedic (CP) will work with primary health care providers (family physicians, hospitals, clinics etc...) and be mobile in the community providing care to patients in their home or community setting. This would include non-emergency (non-9-1-1) calls and regularly scheduled visits for clients. The CP will work alone in a response capable vehicle and be responsible for, but not limited to, direct patient care, incorporating advanced assessment, consultation, and treatment. The CP is expected to execute independent critical thinking skills in order to deliver appropriate care that is consistent with their current scope of practice and to work well in a team with direct medical oversight. The CP will be an integral part of the continuum of care, acting as a liaison with physicians, nurses, and the greater medical community in meeting patient needs. The successful applicant will occasionally perform duties in relation to their ability and scope as a licensed Paramedic. It is expected that even in the CP position the successful applicant may be called upon to perform these duties at any point throughout a shift.
