Talent Acquisition Coordinator at Thyssen Mining
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports full-cycle recruitment activities for corporate and site-based operations across Canada and USA. Based out of the Corporate Office in Regina, SK, this role is responsible for coordinating recruitment processes, sourcing candidates, managing recruitment administration, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience from application through onboarding.
Working closely with hiring managers, site leaders, Human Resources, and external candidates, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator plays a key role in attracting and hiring skilled professionals, tradespeople, and mining personnel to support organizational growth and workforce planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities for corporate and operational positions.
- Post and maintain job advertisements on internal and external recruitment platforms.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, networking, and industry contacts.
- Conduct candidate screening and preliminary interviews.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Assist with offer preparation and presentations.
Recruitment Administration
- Manage candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Prepare employment offers, recruitment packages, and related documentation.
- Coordinate reference checks, criminal record checks, pre-employment testing, and medical assessments.
- Ensure recruitment data and records are accurate and up to date.
- Track key recruitment metrics and prepare reports.
Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements for new hires.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation activities.
- Ensure employee files and onboarding documentation are completed and maintained.
- Liaise with site teams and internal departments to ensure seamless onboarding.
Employment Branding & Recruitment Marketing
- Support recruitment marketing campaigns and social media initiatives.
- Assist with job fairs, community events, and industry networking opportunities.
- Promote TMCC as an employer of choice.
- Create and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions.
Workforce Planning Support
- Support workforce planning initiatives by tracking vacancies and hiring forecasts.
- Assist with recruitment strategy implementation.
- Monitor hiring trends and labour market conditions.
- Support special recruitment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple recruitment activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience recruiting within mining, construction, industrial, or skilled trades environments.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and recruitment best practices.
- CPHR designation or working toward designation.
