Research and Evaluation Consultant (Survey Data Analysis) at OXARO Inc.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thematic analysis of open-ended survey responses, developing detailed coding schemes that capture both descriptive (explicit) and interpretative (implicit) codes.
- Code qualitative survey responses in QualCoder and organize the coded data into structured spreadsheets.
- Revise coding schemes based on feedback and code all open-ended responses into the appropriate codes.
- Generate themes and subthemes by combining related codes and produce conceptual thematic maps.
- Analyze and report the proportion of respondents mentioning each theme, illustrating results with bar charts.
- Report the frequency of themes across sub-groups, such as rank group and gender, with associated charts.
- Conduct statistical tests of differences in proportions using SPSS.
- Select representative quotes to illustrate and represent responses within each theme and subtheme.
- Prepare draft and final qualitative analysis reports using APA version 7 formatting, and perform quality assurance reviews.
- Clean and prepare quantitative survey data, including reverse-coding items, calculating scale scores, and documenting statistical assumptions.
- Conduct quantitative analyses in SPSS, including descriptive, psychometric, group comparison, correlation, and regression analyses, and interpret the results.
- Produce briefing decks with graphs, charts, and tables presenting findings, interpretations, and key takeaways.
Qualifications
- At least 1 publicly available sample of scholarly and scientific writing, such as a journal article, report, or thesis, in the social sciences, as the lead author.
- 2+ years of experience in research and evaluation, literature reviews, or environmental scans in the social sciences.
- 1+ years of experience conducting quantitative analyses of self-report survey data, including descriptive analyses, psychometric analyses, group comparisons, correlations, and regressions.
- 1+ years of experience conducting qualitative analysis of self-report survey data, focus groups, and/or interviews, including theme identification, response coding, inter-rater reliability analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Proficiency conducting statistical analyses using SPSS.
- Strong scholarly and scientific writing skills, including the ability to prepare reports using APA version 7 formatting.
- A relevant professional certification is an asset.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences from a recognized Canadian university, or an equivalent credential from an accredited foreign institution.
