CGSB UT Level II Technician at CFM Custom Fabricators & Machinists Ltd.
The successful candidate will perform ultrasonic inspections on industrial assets including pressure equipment, piping systems, structural components, storage tanks, and welded assemblies. This role offers opportunities to work on challenging projects while contributing to the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasonic testing inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct weld examinations, thickness surveys, corrosion assessments, and flaw detection inspections.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results and prepare accurate reports.
- Maintain calibration and verification of UT equipment.
- Support shutdown, maintenance, and capital project activities.
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and client procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members.
Qualifications
Required
- CGSB UT Level II certification.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Additional CGSB certifications (MT, PT, VT, ET, RT, or CEDO).
- Experience with PAUT, TOFD, corrosion mapping, or advanced UT techniques.
- Industrial experience in pulp and paper, refinery, power generation, or manufacturing environments.
- Rope access, confined space, or fall protection certifications.
Working Conditions
- Industrial field work in a variety of environments.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors.
- Flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, nights, and shutdown work as required.
