We're looking for a detail-oriented

Finance Administrator to join our Finance & Accounting team. If you enjoy working with numbers, thrive in a collaborative environment, and take pride in delivering accurate, timely financial information, we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to the Controller, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while contributing to the continued success of one of Canada's leading insurance brokerages.

What does the Finance Administrator do?

As a Finance Administrator, You'll Help Ensure The Accuracy And Integrity Of Our Financial Operations By Supporting a Variety Of Accounting Functions. Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Performing full-cycle accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Processing accounts payable and ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time.
  • Managing accounts receivable, recording incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
  • Supporting the preparation, analysis, and payment of monthly commissions for branch offices and Head Office employees.
  • Entering and reconciling financial data within our accounting and broker management systems.
  • Monitoring and responding to accounting inquiries and internal support tickets while meeting established service standards.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparation, including working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Helping maintain internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and applicable legislation.
  • Collaborating with Finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes and support ongoing initiatives.
  • Assisting with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as required.

Required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year College diploma (or equivalent) in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using accounting software (ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.

Assets

  • Previous experience working within the insurance industry.
  • Experience working with broker management systems or commission processing.
  • Knowledge of Powerbroker is considered an asset.
