Job Brief
Supervise operation of, and manage assets at, the Terrace, BC distribution site to deliver Dyno Nobel’s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company’s financial objectives. Manage inventories, equipment, and maintenance.

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be the leader of supervising operation of, and manage assets at, the Eskay Creek distribution site to deliver Dyno Nobel’s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company’s financial objectives. You will manage inventories, equipment, maintenance, site infrastructure and CFC’s. Other duties will include:
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external customers to successfully meet objectives and add value for customers, manufacturing sites and distribution.
- Work to achieve high levels of positive working relationships with customers to fully demonstrate Dyno Nobel’s service commitment
- Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
- Implement continuous improvement programs (BEx) by following management policies and procedures in order to meet customer expectations, business objectives and budget goals
- Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability.
- Prepare and submit proper paperwork to document expenses, safety statistics, payroll information and other as required by policy.
- Lead employees into safe day meetings, and track all take 5s, JSA, and near miss reporting.
- Ensure all site licenses are accurate and up to date and report amendments to Regulatory Manager
- Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner. Driving duties will also frequently extend off of public roads to include mine locations/roads, FSRs, off-road field locations and other such potentially difficult terrain
- Possess basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or maintenance while in the field, deliver and off load product within DN H&S Management System procedures and practices
- Load and unload all trucks, and maintain magazines, sites and inventories
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of high school education. Strong math, writing and computer skills required.
- May substitute work experience and/or training in the explosives or mining industries or other directly related work experience for some required education.
- Minimum 5 years working in a supervisory role
- Experience in the mining or mining related industries
- Experience in the explosives industry.
- Must be at least 21 year of age and possess a valid driver's license.
- Knowledgeable of applicable NRCAN (ERD), Transport Canada and all other relevant regulations related to the explosives industry
- Travel (30%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed.
