Coordinator - Quality at Covenant Health Alberta

As the Quality Coordinator, Nutrition, Food, Linen and Environmental Services (NFLES), you will be responsible for supporting quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across Clinical Nutrition, Food Services, Environmental Services, Portering, Laundry, and Linen Services. You will work collaboratively with NFLES leadership, frontline staff, educators, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to ensure support services are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with organizational, professional, and regulatory standards. In this role, you will conduct audits, inspections, and evaluations to monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, infection prevention and control requirements, accreditation standards, and departmental policies and procedures. You will assist with the development and maintenance of quality metrics, action plans, policies, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will identify opportunities to improve service delivery, support the implementation of corrective actions, investigate concerns and complaints, and participate in quality and process improvement projects. In addition, you will monitor and analyze key performance indicators, prepare reports, and present findings to operational leadership to support evidence-informed decision making. The Quality Coordinator also supports staff education and training related to professional practice, quality standards, food safety, infection prevention and control practices, and operational procedures. You will contribute to the development of educational resources, work procedures, and quality improvement tools that support excellence in service delivery and resident- and patient-centered care. This position reports to the Senior Director, NFLES, within the Integrated Services portfolio and is an Out of Scope (non-unionized) position.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Nutrition Food Services Management, Environmental Services, Health Administration, or a related field. Minimum two years of recent experience in healthcare Nutrition Food Services, Environmental Services, or other healthcare support service operations.

Additional Required Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, food safety standards, accreditation processes, and healthcare regulations. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to interpret data and develop meaningful quality improvement initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data reporting tools. Demonstrated project management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and achieve objectives within established timelines. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, frontline staff, educators, and interdisciplinary stakeholders. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and service excellence. Experience conducting audits, inspections, evaluations, or compliance reviews in a healthcare environment. Experience developing reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and presenting findings to operational leaders. Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present data to support quality improvement and operational decision-making. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum two years of experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, or healthcare support service operations. Experience supporting accreditation, healthcare audits, or regulatory compliance initiatives. Relevant certifications or professional memberships such as (C)NM, CAPM, PMP, CHESP, CHHA, CLLM, or MHLM. Experience with quality management, performance measurement, or process improvement methodologies.
