Overview
The Communications, Senior Manager will develop and deliver bilingual (French Canadian and English) internal communications that support Gallagher’s Benefits & HR Consulting (GBS) in Canada. This role ensures alignment with organizational priorities, culture, and brand voice while driving engagement across both divisions.
This role combines strategic counsel with hands-on execution, supporting leadership communications, change initiatives, and ongoing business updates across GBS in Canada. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who is comfortable advising leaders, shaping messages for diverse audiences, and executing across multiple channels in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

How You'll Make An Impact
- Division Strategy: Lead internal communications strategies for GBS Canada, ensuring alignment with leadership messaging, transformation initiatives, and organizational updates.
- Strategic Execution: Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to deliver high-quality work on time.
- End-to-End Communications Planning: Own internal communications plans for projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, culture, and brand voice.
- Bilingual Communications Development: Develop and deliver bilingual internal communications for Canada, including leadership messages, organizational announcements, emails, intranet content, talking points, newsletters, and presentations.
- Leadership Support: Provide communications counsel to senior leaders and business partners, helping guide messaging, timing, and channel strategy.
- Content Management: Manage the creation, review, and release of internal communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Collaborate across communications, HR, marketing, and business teams to drive alignment and adoption of communication strategies.
- Platform and Calendar Management: Manage communication tools, platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Poppulo), and calendars for supported business areas.
- Metrics and Insights: Apply metrics, insights, and best practices to continuously improve communication effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Crisis and Client Communications: Support crisis communications and client-related messaging, including M&A announcements.
- Collateral Development: Oversee the creation of collateral for both internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with business goals and brand standards.
About You
Skills and Expertise
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in French Canadian and English, with strong grammar, editing and proofreading ability.
- Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, audience‑focused communications.
- Strong writing and editing skills across a range of internal channels and audiences, including newsletters, SharePoint and email platforms.
- Ability to independently manage multiple medium‑ to high‑complexity projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational abilities.
- Comfort working independently while building strong relationships with global and cross‑functional partners.
- Experience leveraging data, insights and industry trends to inform communication strategies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools; experience with SharePoint, Poppulo or similar platforms preferred.
- Knowledge of AP Style for consistent and professional communications.
Business/Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate or internal communications.
- Experience supporting senior leaders in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience in financial services, insurance brokerage or a large global organization is a plus.
- Relationship builder with individuals at all levels and in all areas of the world; seeks to build trust through a professional attitude, confidence, and a strong work ethic
- Must be self-starter and continuous learn who takes initiative to implement strong plans and continuous process improvements
- Comfortably operates with minimal direction
- Engages in continuous learning - proactively researches and applies best practices and innovations in internal communications
Note: Bilingual, English and French required. English is required for this role to communicate regularly with mostly English-speaking clients in other provinces and team members in other regions where English is the primary language.
