Salary: $55,548.63 - $70,297.22

JOB SUMMARY

Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and passionate about ensuring compliance and fairness? Join our team as a Casino Licensing Specialist, where you will play an important role in supporting Alberta's charitable gaming sector.

In this position, you will assess the eligibility of applicants seeking charitable casino event licences, ensuring applications meet Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) policies, legislative requirements, and regulatory standards. Your work will help maintain the integrity and accountability of charitable gaming activities across the province.

As a key member of the licensing team, you will review and evaluate casino licence applications, verify required documentation, and collaborate with applicant organizations to obtain outstanding information. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will manage competing priorities and ensure applications are processed efficiently and within established service standards.

This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a structured regulatory environment, demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional service while upholding compliance and public trust.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High school diploma supplemented by three (3) years of related experience in a regulatory, compliance, licensing, administrative, customer service, or adjudicative environment.
• Post-secondary education in business administration, public administration, legal studies, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies and procedures with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to make independent decisions and to interpret legal documents, such as joint venture and partnership agreements.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload, balance competing priorities, and meet service standards and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements clearly, build positive relationships, and provide responsive customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams, and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use licensing, records management, and case management systems.
