Job Description: Ceded Re Solutions and Support Analyst
BACKGROUND
AXIS is a global insurer and reinsurer focused on specialty lines and treaty reinsurance. AXIS is headquartered in Bermuda and operates in North America, EMEA, Asia, and Global Markets (including Lloyd’s).
Advance the Company’s growth and profitability goals through the enablement of the Ceded Reinsurance Strategy;
Provide clear accountability for outward reinsurance contract administration, outwards reinsurance controls and outward reinsurance reporting; and
Drive process excellence and better data and analytics through technological enhancement and automation.
The Ceded Re Analyst – Solutions (CRM) will report to the Ceded Re Lead who reports to the Global Head of Ceded Re Finance and Operations. The CRM will support the global ceded reinsurance processing and accounting functions and ensure timely and accurate processing per corporate requirements. The CRM will support system fixes and enhancements to Ceded Re systems to facilitate accurate and efficient processing.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Ceded Reinsurance Processing
Ceded Processing
Maintain Calendar for Ceded Re Systems processing
Assist in entry of ceded reinsurance contracts for financial close processing and reporting
Assist in monthly and quarterly ceded reinsurance processing, including file receipt and analysis, initiation of calculations, review tracking and posting of results
Document all Ceded Re Systems processing steps, transition processing to offshore resources, own monitoring and support of those resources
Provide systems support and fulfill data requests for Ceded Re Operations team
Gather system documentation and data to fulfill internal and external audit requests
Ceded Re System Enhancements
Perform User Acceptance Testing of enhancements to Ceded Re Systems
Support lead in the identification and development requirements for enhancements to Ceded Re Processing, Reporting and Analysis
Assist in management and prioritization of enhancements across Ceded Re Systems
Develop deep knowledge of ceded re systems and data requirements to accurately automate processing of business
Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure accurate communication and timely response to inquiries
Ensure departmental compliance with operational controls including
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, OR, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong analytical and problem solvency abilities
Able to navigate and review SQL code
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products applications (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
Advanced excel knowledge required
Exposure to Agile project management methodology a plus
Retrocession and / or third-party capital industry knowledge with operations and reporting experience a plus
Experience with ceded reinsurance and financial systems a plus (ProCede and Oracle)

Good oral and written communication skills, which will include report writing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $75,000 - 125,000 CAD (Halifax). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
