Field Supervisor, Industrial Services at GFL - Sewer Technologies Division

The Field Supervisor will be relied upon to ensure that GFL’s culture of safety and professionalism is heavily present on site. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, various aspects of personnel management, fostering professional business relationships and consistently looking for ways to expand services provided.

Job Duties

• Accountable for upholding the GFL safety and service standards within the assigned division.
• Perform field observations of personnel.
• Coordinate service on site and oversee work performed for safety and quality excellence.
• Lead the site-based teams to consistently exceed customer service expectations.
• Coach and mentor personnel and engage in corrective discussions.
• Assist with incident investigations including corrective action development.
• Promote and lead GFL’s safety programs by conducting safety meetings, safe work plans and job hazard assessments.
• Focus on increasing profitability.
• Professionally represent GFL and be the first point of contact on client sites.
• Identify opportunities for enhanced or expanded site services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Industrial vacuum truck and hydro-excavating experience.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Clear Language Edition).
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
• Standard First Aid / CPR
• Ability to be on-call on a regular rotation for evenings and weekends.
• Experience coaching and mentoring a high performing team.
• Passion for business development and exceptional customer service.
• Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract, Class 1 or 3 preferred.
• Safety background an asset.
