Production Kitter at Morris Equipment Ltd.
Superior Farm Equipment Ltd. brings together the rich legacies and expertise of Rite Way Manufacturing and Morris Equipment Ltd., two western Canadian companies dedicated to providing quality, performance-based equipment for farmers worldwide.
We are recruiting to fill a Kitter position who can work well with and without supervision at a production pace to join our team at our Manufacturing facility in Regina, SK. The shift is Monday – Thursday, 10 hour days/nights rotation.
Job Duties:
- Support production by assembling kits of necessary components for assembly
- Identify shortages and enter them on daily shortage report
- Notify supervisor of any shortages
- Sort and place material or items on racks, shelves or bins according to pre-determined criteria such as size, type, style, color or product
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Participate in physical inventory for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
- Use a forklift and other industrial equipment for unloading and moving products when needed.
- Maintain a safe workplace
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience driving forklifts and similar equipment
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Work Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ensure work area remains clean and well organized
- Constant light physical effort (bending, reaching, carrying light items, walking, standing)
- Regular heavy physical effort (carrying, lifting or pushing heavy items)
- Hazards associated with a manufacturing environment
- Regular need to deal with simultaneous multiple demands which must be attended to immediately
- Work requires attention to detail, subject to frequent interruptions
- Occasional peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace
- Overtime as required.
Additional Requirements (Can be attained after hiring):
- Forklift license
- Skidsteer training
