Salary range: $ 65,000 -$70,000 per annum

About The Opportunity

The Ministry and Community Engagement department advances Focus on the Family Canada’s mission by strengthening relationships with churches, denominations, ministry networks, pastors, volunteers, and ministry leaders across Canada. The department promotes Focus Canada’s resources, supports clergy and ministry leaders through care-based initiatives, and oversees retreat ministries that provide renewal, refreshment, and pastoral care.

The Ministry Partnerships and Church Engagement Manager establish and cultivate relationships with Christian leaders, pastors, churches, and ministry organizations , serving as a key representative at strategic meetings, speaking engagements, conferences, and other ministry and community gatherings . Through making connections, this role also identifies new partnership opportunities and provides leadership and strategic direction for new and existing departmental programs and initiatives.

  • Strategic Ministry and Community Engagement
  • Grow Focus Canada's reach, influence, and ministry impact by establishing and strengthening strategic relationships with churches, denominations, ministry networks, Christian schools, and other ministry partners across Canada.
  • Strong understanding of the theological distinctives, structures, and relational dynamics of denominational and ministry partners to support effective collaboration.
  • Identify annual goals and identify expansion opportunities for the Impact Teams volunteer program.

Success Looks Like

  • A comprehensive database of churches, denominations, educational institutions, ministry networks, and parachurch organizations that engage with Focus on the Family Canada is created and maintained .
  • Increased engagement with Focus Canada resources, programs, and ministry initiatives with strong understanding of the issues facing the local church in Canada.
  • Positive partner satisfaction and retention.
  • Relational Development & Networking:
  • Identify , develop, and support partnerships that advance organizational priorities, ministry programs, and long-term ministry impact .
  • Promote core ministry initiatives, including Kerith Ministry Leaders Retreats, Hope Restored, Journey to Us, and other relevant resources, to denominations, ministry networks, Christian schools, and post-secondary institutions.

Success Looks Like

  • New strategic relationships and partnership opportunities are identified and developed.
  • Expansion of Focus Canada Resource Centres and strategic church engagement initiatives.
  • Increased participation in Clergy Care and related ministry programs
  • Increased formal partnership agreements with churches, denominations, networks, and ministry organizations.
  • Represent Focus Canada with credibility, professionalism, and ministry effectiveness through speaking engagements, conferences, denominational gatherings, and ministry events in collaboration with the Manager of Events and Sponsorships.
  • Key departmental initiatives, including Focus on the Family Day and the Pastors Appreciation Gala are planned and executed with excellence in partnership with the Events team

  • Growth in ministry opportunities generated through these engagements
  • Speaking opportunities at churches, conferences, camps, schools, and ministry gatherins on family-related and ministry-related topics are consistently managed and pursued
  • Positive audience feedback and engagement.
  • Effective representation at churches, conferences, schools, camps, and ministry gatherings.
  • Key events and initiatives achieve desired participation and engagement outcomes
  • Organizational Management & Ministry Programs
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to strengthen volunteer engagement and ministry participation through Impact Teams and related initiatives.
  • Support ministry effectiveness through responsible planning, resource stewardship, accountability, and performance measurement.

Success Looks Like

  • Quarterly key performance indicators aligned with the key results established by the Director of Ministry & Community Engagement.
  • Use volunteer performance metrics and participation data, currently in TimeCounts , to support informed decision-making .
  • New ministry opportunities and innovations are identified and evaluated.
  • Budgets and resources are managed responsibly.

About You

  • A deep commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Focus on the Family Canada.
  • 3 + years of pastoral experience, preferably in a Family Pastor, Youth Pastor, Young Adult Pastor, or other leadership role within a local church setting.
  • Completion of a Bible College degree or Seminary graduat e .
  • A dditional degree or certificate in a related field such as non-profit management , marketing, communication, is a n asset .
  • Experience in public speaking , teaching, facilitating workshops, or leading seminars .
  • Strong networking skills with pr oven ability to build and sustain strategic relationships with diverse ministry stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative ideas that improves current processes and create new opportunities.
  • Understanding of issues affecting churches, ministry leaders, and Christian organizations in Canada.
  • S trong planning and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 .
