Route Cyclists: 1 to lead and guide the 5km, 1 to follow behind all 5km participants at Canadian Cancer Society

Role Details

When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada. Join us on event day in your local community. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability.

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.

Tasks for this role include:

• Use your own bike to ride behind the last walkers on the 5km route
• Ensure no participant gets lost or left behind
• Monitor for any safety concerns and offer support if needed
• If additional cyclists are present, sweep the route upon return to the site to double-check that everyone is safely back
• Be encouraging and attentive — your presence helps everyone feel supported!

Why we need you

Thanks to these investments in research and clinical trials, approximately 90% of women will survive at least 5 years after a breast cancer diagnosis.
