Role Details

When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada. Join us on event day in your local community. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability.

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026.

Tasks for this role include:

• Help with tear-down and movement of tents, tables, chairs, banners, and décor
• Should be able to lift at least 10 lbs—some box lifting may be required
• Ensure the site is clean and free of garbage and recycling
• Be flexible and ready to jump into any task as needed
• Work as part of a supportive, team-focused crew
• This is an active role in which you will need to stand for long periods of time

Why we need you

Together, we are changing the future of breast cancer. By joining the CIBC Run for the Cure this year and uniting your community together for the breast cancer cause, you are helping us ensure we can continue to fund ground-breaking breast cancer research and clinical trials. Thanks to these investments in research and clinical trials, approximately 90% of women will survive at least 5 years after a breast cancer diagnosis.
