Cameco Fuel Manufacturing is seeking a Reactor Components Operator to join our team. The Operator will be working in the Calandria area supporting refurbishment contracts and assisting with ongoing projects.

Position And Responsibilities

Located in the Cobourg plant and reporting to the Reactor Components Supervisor, the position typically involves the following activities:

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Complete training and maintain qualifications to operate multiple production processes.
  • Work shifts as required, including split shifts.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Lift and carry calandria tubes (22 kg); all lifts require two operators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Lead Hand, or designate.
  • Demonstrate reliability and attention to detail when performing hands-on tasks.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure products meet quality standards and production goals.

There may be a requirement to work through a portion of summer shut down periods to ensure the projects are completed on time.

Education And Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

  • Relevant manufacturing, industrial or production experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • At least one year of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
