We are seeking a Construction Law Legal Assistant to support a busy legal practice focused on construction, business, real estate, and commercial litigation matters. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys managing legal documents, coordinating litigation files, supporting lawyers throughout the file lifecycle, and delivering exceptional client service in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and other legal materials.
  • Support lawyers with construction law, business law, real estate, and litigation matters.
  • Maintain and organize client files from opening through closing while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage calendars, court deadlines, meetings, and appointments.
  • Coordinate communications with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research as required.
  • Track billable time and assist with file administration and workflow management.
  • Utilize legal practice management software to maintain organized records and support efficient file progression.
  • Provide administrative support while ensuring timely and responsive client service.
  • Qualifications
  • Experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.
  • Strong understanding of construction, business, and real estate legal matters.
  • Proficiency in preparing and formatting legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Legal Administration, Paralegal, or related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with legal practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site, team-oriented environment.
