About the Position

Join the Registrar’s Office and Student Experience / Indigenous Services Team. Candidates will enjoy working with new and returning Indigenous students enrolled at Lethbridge Polytechnic and assist with various programming and activities to support Indigenous student transition, engagement and retention.

There will also be opportunity to interact with prospective students by sharing your post-secondary experiences during recruitment events and tours.

Position Details

  • Ability to build authentic connections with peers, support staff, and prospective students.
  • Be a point of contact for students in the Niitsitapi Gathering Place.
  • Be available to work weekly shifts in the Niitsitapi Gathering place and provide peer support for new students.
  • Ensure the Gathering Place is in order and report any issues to your supervisor.
  • Assist with hosting Blackfoot Grandparents.
  • Assist with events and activities.
  • Represent Lethbridge Polytechnic student body in a positive and respectful manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student completed first year in a Lethbridge Polytechnic program and in good academic standing.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport with staff and students.
  • Motivated and able to work independently and with a team, following a set workplan.
  • Knowledge of Polytechnic Services.
  • Experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities.
  • Understanding of Indigenous culture and worldview.

Preferred Qualifications

AUPE Class Level 1, Step 2 $18.91/hr
