How you’ll make an impact

Leverage your expertise in financial crime investigations, fraud detection and evidence handling to lead complex investigations that support informed organizational decisions and contribute to civil and criminal law matters.

As a Senior Investigator, Customer Diligence Centre, you’ll independently manage multiple complex investigations while collaborating with a skilled team to plan, conduct and report on cases, preserve and evaluate evidence, and provide expertise in criminal and law enforcement matters. Your strong investigative knowledge and reporting capabilities will enable you to assess complex cases, work with multiple information sources and recommend improvements to organizational processes.

What you’ll do

• Plan, conduct and report on complex investigations involving suspected fraud and other criminal concerns

• Prioritize investigation activities and develop investigation plans based on risk and case complexity

• Collect, preserve and evaluate evidence while maintaining chain-of-custody requirements

• Document investigation findings and provide expertise related to criminal and law enforcement matters

• Collaborate with internal teams, law enforcement agencies and industry peers to support investigations and information sharing

• Provide coaching, guidance, anti-fraud education and investigative support across the organization

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or police studies

• Minimum five years of commercial crime experience with a financial institution, police force in progressively responsible roles, or senior security positions (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

• Extensive knowledge of investigation techniques and reporting best practices

• Proven expertise in conducting complex investigations involving financial fraud, money laundering risks or related criminal activity

• Demonstrated proficiency with standard computer software and applications used to support investigations and reporting

• Strong understanding of the legal system and law enforcement environment

• Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) needed

P referred qualifications

• Knowledge of the judiciary system, including criminal and civil processes

• Knowledge of rules regarding the admissibility of evidence

• Thorough knowledge of criminal, federal and provincial statutes and regulations across Canada

• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation

• Knowledge of agriculture and agribusiness financial structures
