Love working with your hands but dread working outside in the harsh Kootenay extremes? Join our Production Team at Selkirk Signs, where you'll build high-quality custom signage in the comfort of our indoor 22,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, all year long.

We’re looking for hard-working, reliable, and skilled individuals to add to the Production Team at our busy Cranbrook facility. This full-time position is perfectly suited to those who enjoy working with their hands and have basic working knowledge of various shop equipment and hand tools.

What does a Production Labourer do?

A production Labourer plays a key role in the manufacturing and crating of amazing signs here around town and all across Canada. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling of sign cabinets and frames.
• Building custom crates to ensure a safe arrival at our clients’ sites.
• Supporting multiple production departments through cross-training and teamwork. We’re constantly learning here at Selkirk.
• Reading and interpreting shop drawings to accurately manufacture products.
• Wiring lights, power boxes, switches and power supplies for our lit signage.
• Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment.

What skills do you have that we might be looking for?

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys hands-on work, values quality, and takes pride in producing exceptional products. Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprint / shop drawings.
• Comfortable using a variety of power and hand tools, including table saws, chop saws, radial arm saws, drills, staple guns, and measuring equipment.
• Accurate measuring, cutting and assembly skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with some pretty tight deadlines.
• Capability to stand/move for up to 8 hours a day and lift moderate to heavy loads.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety.

• Competitive wages of $22.00-$24.00/hr; depending on skillset and experience.
• Desirable working hours of 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday-Friday; start early, leave early!
• Two fully paid 20-minute coffee breaks.
