Role Description
Reporting to the Community Manager, the Maintenance Technician (12-month contract) will oversee and initiate maintenance and general repairs for the Evergreen community and fulfill our responsibilities to the residents.
Responsibilities
- Maintain gardens and landscaped areas during the summer months.
- Conduct regular swimming pool testing during the summer.
- Perform workshop upkeep and preventative maintenance during the winter season.
- Complete grounds maintenance, including light snow removal as required.
- Assist with property improvements and special projects, as needed.
- Carry out grounds maintenance and landscaping across the property.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on all community buildings and equipment.
- Manage and maintain records related to septic system upkeep.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Community Manager.
- Maintain and clean work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Promote a safe working environment for staff, residents, vendors, and visitors.
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements for the communities are consistently met.
- Be available for after‑hours calls and respond to emergencies, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience And Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of related general maintenance experience; experience working in the hotel or campground industry is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater systems and related issues; Water Operator Certification is considered an asset.
- Valid G‑class driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, days, nights, and emergency call‑ins as required.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, contractors, the public, and residents.
- Familiarity with smartphone and tablet technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
