Role Summary
The Performance Test Specialist will plan, design, execute, and report on non-functional testing activities supporting a cloud migration program. This includes performance, load, stress, spike, soak/endurance, scalability, capacity, failover, recovery, disaster recovery, integration, data migration, security, and API testing. The role partners with QA, Architecture, Infrastructure, Development, MPI, FINEOS, and MuleSoft teams to identify bottlenecks, resolve issues, validate SLAs, and support production-readiness decisions. The specialist will also help establish repeatable testing practices, governance, acceptance criteria, and NFR maturity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain large-scale performance testing strategies, plans, scripts, and test suites.
- Perform load, stress, spike, soak/endurance, scalability, capacity, failover, recovery, disaster recovery, integration, and data migration testing.
- Validate application, API, database, cloud, and infrastructure performance against defined SLAs and performance thresholds.
- Conduct security and vulnerability testing activities
- Analyze results, identify bottlenecks and root causes, recommend optimizations, and support defect resolution.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, infrastructure teams, service center staff, and project stakeholders to ensure application reliability and performance.
- Produce dashboards, reports, monitoring insights, capacity planning recommendations, and performance evidence for production-readiness decisions.
- Recommend innovative approaches and continuous improvements to testing processes and technical solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on performance testing experience.
- Strong experience in Performance Testing, API Testing, and Security Testing.
- Baseline and benchmark testing
- Load, stress, spike, soak/endurance, scalability, and capacity testing
- Failover, recovery, and disaster recovery validation
- Integration and data migration performance testing
- SAST, DAST, SCA, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Power BI, Fortify, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Snyk, Black Duck, Mend, Nessus, Nmap, or equivalent solutions.
- Strong ability to analyze results, troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Experience with system monitoring, capacity planning, runtime analysis, and performance optimization; code optimization experience is an asset.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities with end-to-end delivery responsibility.
- Strong verbal and written communication/documentation skills, prior experience in IT consulting is preferred.
