Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead (Building Engineering)

Our client is seeking an experienced

Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead to establish and grow their Electrical Engineering department. This is a rare leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial professional who enjoys building teams, leading projects, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the future of a growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm.

What You'll Be Doing

• Establish, develop, and lead the Electrical Engineering department.
• Provide technical leadership on electrical building systems projects.
• Lead projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables.
• Design and review electrical systems including:
• Power Distribution
• Lighting Systems
• Fire Alarm Systems
• Emergency Power
• Life Safety Systems
• Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Mentor Electrical Engineers, Designers, and EITs as the team grows.
• Support business development and strengthen client relationships.
• Develop departmental standards, best practices, and engineering processes.
• Conduct occasional site visits during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation (Ontario) or eligibility to obtain it.
• Minimum 10 years of Building Engineering consulting experience.
• Proven experience delivering electrical building systems projects from design through construction.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Ontario Building Code (OBC)
• Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
• Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence.
