Junior IT Business Analyst (QA) at REDPATH MINING
The Junior IT Business Analyst, QA’s role is to support the Business Applications team in the development and support of efficient business systems within core organizational functions and business processes. This role is responsible for production and project support of various systems, generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The Junior IT Business Analyst is also responsible for supporting, implementing, and continuously improving quality assurance practices across projects and teams. This role combines hands‑on testing experience, test strategy execution, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure products meet functional, performance, security, and reliability standards before deployment. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety

- Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
Operations Management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test scenarios, and test cases based on business and functional requirements for functional, integration, regression, performance, and UAT testing for Zephyr
- Execute manual functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities for new implementations, enhancements, and system upgrades
- Validate that business requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria are met prior to production deployment
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution, working closely with the project and support teams
- Support testing cycles across development, test, and production environments
- Participate in release readiness reviews and provide quality sign-off recommendations
- Develop and maintain test evidence and documentation to support audit, compliance, and change management requirements
- Log, track, and validate defects using Jira
- Monitor testing metrics, defect trends, and quality indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and releases
- Prepare status reports where required
- Perform in-depth tests for modified and new system
- Prepare BRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional documentation
- Work with and assist project teams on implementation or upgrades of new and existing business solutions
- Follow proper change management processes when performing any changes to solutions
- Other duties as required to support the IT Business Applications team
Qualifications
Education
- Required: College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, or management information systems and 2+ years of related work experience
Work Experience
- Required: 2+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or QA Analyst in deployment and support of software systems implementations within a global environment (cloud, hosted and on-premise platforms)
Knowledge Required
- Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. REST/API automation)
- Working knowledge of QA methodologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies and testing best practice
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Octane)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Oracle Fusion Knowledge (technical, ERP, HCM) including basic functional knowledge of related modules (GL, AR, AP, PPM, SCM, Core HR, Talent, Recruitment, Absence)
- ISTQB, ECBA, or Oracle Fusion certifications considered an asset
