Partners In Health (PIH) is an international health organization relentlessly committed to improving the health of the poor and marginalized. PIH partners with local governments to build local capacity and works closely with impoverished communities to deliver high-quality health care, address the root causes of illness, train providers, advance research, and advocate for global policy change. Our delivered services in the field are based in our partnership with the Governments and Ministries of Health and the support to education, training and mentorship to Health care workers and students is one of our pillars for the Health care system strengthening.

PIH currently has implementation programs in Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Sierra Leone and Navajo Nation. Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.

Our Work In Sierra Leone

Partners In Health (PIH) began supporting the government of Sierra Leone in response to the Ebola epidemic in October 2014. Recognizing the large need for continued investments in the health system after Ebola, PIH is committed to long-term health system strengthening in support of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), guided by the same principles as our emergency response and our work around the world: public sector accompaniment, integrated and comprehensive services, social justice, nimbleness and flexibility, partnership, community ownership, and evidence-based interventions. In the aftermath of the epidemic, PIH is committed to supporting the delivery of comprehensive health services in Sierra Leone, from the community level to the health centre and to referral hospitals.

Position Overview

Partners in Health Sie rra Leone (PIH-SL) seeks a dynam ic, p rofessional IT officer who will support the day-to-day IT activities in Freetown, Lakka Government Hospital, Kissy psychiatric hospital and also the KGH . The IT officer will work closely with the Senior IT officer and the IT manager. He will e nsures the prope r functioning of the Network infra sture and computer systems in the stated location . This includes the installation, configuration, maintenance, troublesh ooting of hardware and software. In collaboration with the IT team, he will maintain an accurate IT inventory.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

User Support

• Serve as the first point of contact and provide day-to-day technical support for end users.
• Assist end users in accessing services and systems effectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting multiple end users.
• Identify and escalate issues that require coordination-level intervention.

Technological Support for End-User Systems, Applications, and Equipment:

• Coordinate the deployment of new technologies within existing environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in accordance with organizational standards.
• Participate in the design and upgrades of network environments, assisting in the deployment of new network devices, and monitoring network services to ensure high availability of resources.
• Provide ongoing support for end-user technology.

Asset Management

• Collaborate with the IT team to maintain an accurate inventory of all IT equipment and software in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Training

• Build the capacity of colleagues by training them on new or existing features and services.
• Identify end-user training needs based on common issues and trends.

Documentation

• Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for problem resolution.
• Develop and share documentation to ensure effective support for end users.

Report Ing

• Prepare and submit a monthly IT Report
• P rovide a monthly incident report
• P rovide a monthly report on the number of requests that have not been ticketed
• Performing any other task, specific to his/her area of specialty, as defined in his/her job description and according to the line manager.

Education And Work Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in computer operations, with advanced coursework in network systems.
• Significant experience working with Microsoft Windows OS and Linux.
• Proven experience in designing and managing IT networks, including setting up LANs, WLANs, and VLANs.
• Experience working with cloud-based environments suc h as SharePoint, Office365, Intune, Serenic is an advantage.
• Experience using network management and monitoring systems like Cisco Mera ki and Ubiquiti UniFi is an advantage.
• familiarity with the Jira ticketing system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
