Job Title: DSP Algorithm Engineer

Join our central AI and Chip Engineering organization at the Ottawa Technology Center in Kanata, one of the flagship AI software hubs within our global engineering network. At the forefront of innovation, this team is driving the enablement of edge AI—including agentic AI, generative AI, and advanced machine learning—on embedded platforms powering the next generation of automotive, industrial, robotics, and intelligent edge systems. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how AI comes to life at the edge, developing high-performance embedded software that transforms complex machine learning models into optimized, production-ready solutions. Your work will directly impact real-world physical AI devices, enabling intelligent systems to perceive, decide, and act in real time.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize DSP and embedded software algorithms for automotive AI/ML applications.
• Implement machine learning, computer vision, or signal processing algorithms on embedded platforms.
• Perform low-level performance optimization on embedded accelerators (e.g., ARM NEON, GPUs, DSPs).
• Support AI/ML software bring-up and integration on semiconductor chips (edge AI).
• Conduct in-depth performance analysis and tuning based on hardware architecture.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++.
• Strong understanding of processor architecture (SIMD, NEON, GPU/DSP).
• Experience with low-level optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience in algorithm development (AI/ML, image processing, audio/video, or computer vision).

Assets

• Exposure to automotive standards (ISO, ASPICE, MISRA).
• Scripting experience (Python preferred).
• Experience with build systems (CMake, Bazel).
• Knowledge of DSP frameworks (OpenCL, CUDA, OpenGL).
• Familiarity with RTOS environments (Linux, QNX, Integrity).

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $68.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
