Radiation Therapist I at Alberta Health Services
The Central Alberta Cancer Centre in Red Deer is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care for the people of central Alberta. The successful candidate will work on two TrueBeam Varian Linear Accelerators as well as a Philips Big Bore CT-Simulator. The department will also provide opportunities for the successful candidate to develop treatment planning skills using Eclipse software. The position is available for Radiation Therapists of all levels of experience and new graduates are welcome to apply.
As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications
Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the position, including lifting and moving for extended periods of time. Basic Life Support (BLS).
