Position Overview
The Video & Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for capturing, creating, producing, and distributing engaging video and digital content that strengthens the Lethbridge Hurricanes brand, connects fans to the team, supports corporate partners, and contributes to ticket sales, community engagement, and the overall game-day experience.
This is a hands-on creative role requiring someone who can move comfortably between the rink, community events, office, and digital platforms. The successful candidate will understand how to tell compelling stories, capture the energy and personality of the Hurricanes, and translate moments on and off the ice into content that people want to watch, share, and engage with.
The position works collaboratively across Business Operations, Hockey Operations, sales, partnerships, game-day staff, players, coaches, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production & Storytelling
- Capture high-quality video content at home games, practices, community events, media opportunities, sponsor activations, and other Club activities.
- Produce short- and long-form video content for social media, website, digital campaigns, in-arena use, advertising, sponsorship commitments, and organizational storytelling.
- Develop creative concepts that showcase players, coaches, fans, partners, community involvement, and the personality of the Hurricanes organization.
- Film and edit interviews, features, behind-the-scenes content, promotional pieces, hype videos, recaps, and other digital storytelling.
- Maintain consistent quality, branding, tone, and visual standards across all video content.
- Organize, catalogue, and maintain an accessible library of video and digital assets.
Social Media & Digital Content
- Create timely, engaging content for the Hurricanes’ social media and digital platforms.
- Support the planning and execution of the Club's digital content calendar.
- Adapt content for the unique requirements and audiences of platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, and emerging channels.
- Capture and publish real-time content during games, events, announcements, and other key organizational moments.
- Identify content trends and opportunities while ensuring they remain appropriate for the Hurricanes brand.
- Support website content and digital communications as required.
Game-Day Content
- Capture and produce game-day video and social content before, during, and following home games.
- Work collaboratively with game-day operations to ensure digital and in-arena content supports an exciting and consistent fan experience.
- Produce player features, promotional content, sponsor material, fan engagement pieces, and other assets required throughout the season.
- Respond quickly to changing game-day needs and opportunities while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Corporate Partnership Support
- Work with the sales and partnership team to deliver digital and video components included in sponsorship agreements.
- Develop creative content that integrates corporate partners authentically into the Hurricanes brand and fan experience.
- Track and support completion of digital sponsorship commitments.
- Capture photographs, video, and other documentation required for partner reporting and fulfillment.
- Identify opportunities to increase the value and visibility provided to Hurricanes partners.
Brand & Community Engagement
- Maintain consistency with Hurricanes and WHL brand standards.
- Help tell the broader story of the organization beyond hockey, including community partnerships, charitable initiatives, youth engagement, volunteers, fans, alumni, and organizational milestones.
- Represent the Hurricanes professionally when interacting with players, families, fans, sponsors, media, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Protect confidential or sensitive organizational and player information.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor digital engagement, content performance, audience growth, reach, video views, and other relevant metrics.
- Identify which content performs effectively and use results to continuously improve digital strategy.
- Provide regular updates on digital performance and emerging opportunities.
- Stay current with social media trends, digital production techniques, platform changes, equipment, and technology.
Team & Organizational Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Hockey Operations and Business Operations while respecting appropriate role boundaries and confidentiality.
- Participate in organizational meetings, planning sessions, events, and initiatives as required.
- Assist with other communications, marketing, promotional, or game-day responsibilities during peak periods.
- Contribute positively to a fast-paced, team-oriented workplace.
- Perform other related duties reasonably assigned by the General Manager, Business Operations.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of creative ability, technical knowledge, initiative, and an understanding of digital audiences.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Diploma, degree, certificate, or demonstrated experience in video production, digital media, communications, broadcasting, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience filming and editing professional-quality video content.
- Experience producing content specifically for social media and digital platforms.
- Proficiency with professional video editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable programs.
- Working knowledge of photography, videography, lighting, audio, and production equipment.
- Experience with graphic design, motion graphics, Adobe Creative Cloud, or related tools is considered an asset.
- Experience in sports, entertainment, events, or a fast-paced content environment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, audiences, and best practices.
- Strong written communication, grammar, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel locally as required.

This position operates in a professional sports environment and requires flexibility beyond traditional office hours.
The successful candidate must be available for:
- Lethbridge Hurricanes home and away games
- Evenings and weekends throughout the hockey season
- Community events, promotional appearances, and special events
- Occasional travel as required
- Extended or irregular hours during games, playoffs, major announcements, and special events.
