CPA Student – January 2027 Start

Are you graduating from an accounting program and ready to begin your CPA path? Join HBA Chartered Professional Accountants in January 2027 and gain hands-on experience across assurance, accounting, tax, and advisory engagements.

We are looking for a recent graduate to join our growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Reporting to managers and partners, the CPA Student will work on a variety of client engagements while building practical skills and confidence in public practice.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will assist with compilation, review, and audit engagements; prepare personal and corporate income tax returns; prepare working papers and financial statements; communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve questions; assist with bookkeeping and accounting assignments; work with managers and partners on a variety of client engagements; and participate in training and professional development.

What You Bring

You bring a degree or diploma in accounting, business, or a related field, along with eligibility to enter the CPA Professional Education Program. You have strong organization, communication, and time-management skills, an eagerness to learn and take on new challenges, and an interest in growing your career in public accounting. You are also comfortable using Microsoft Office.

Previous public accounting experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation, a willingness to learn, and an interest in building a career in public practice.
