What You Will Be Doing
This position requires a self-motivated individual to provide a high level of quality pricing including proposal documentation for bid packages to contractors for commercial projects of all levels of complexity and size. The incumbent of this role will interpret customer requirements and offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value for the customer. Consistent with Gerrie’s commitment to service excellence to our customers, the Project Quotation Specialist will follow proven project quotation and proposal processes to deliver value to our customers with timely, accurate and complete proposals to meet the highest industry standards.
QUOTATIONS DUTIES
Determine viability of projects for Gerrie Electric in collaboration with assigned Branches
Develop and execute bid strategy for selected projects from a costing perspective
Work closely with selected vendors to arrive at the most cost-effective solution while meeting plans and specifications
Work with Gerrie resource teams to price miscellaneous items needed for a complete bid package
Compile and compare various vendor quotes to determine best fit for project in coordination with Branch Manager or Account Manager where applicable
Determine total cost, decide on appropriate margin and participate in closing project bids with selected contractors as per agreed on bid strategy
Provide follow-up on projects and answer any questions pertaining to projects as per agreed on bid strategy
Responsible for the hand-over of a clean, fully completed and documented quote/proposal to the Project Coordinator/Manager as per Project Services procedures
Act as a resource to the Project Coordinator during the life of a project once it becomes an order
Answer customer questions and requests in a professional and timely manner
Provide project quotations in a timely and organized manner
Help the Branches with any project related requests for such items as: panels, switch board, lighting etc. and provide suggestions as to where and how to source product
CUSTOMER SERVICE/ COMMUNICATION
Customer contact – be the liaison between the customer and sales for any issues that are keeping our customer from making their remittance in a timely manner.
TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION
Create and maintain a team atmosphere and ensure employee concerns are resolved
What You Bring To The Table
Technical college diploma and 2+ years of experience in the electrical industry
Strong understanding of electrical products, distribution systems, and industry practices
Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, construction drawings, and lighting layouts
Excellent communication, math, organizational, and time management skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Customer-focused with a strong work ethic and sales-oriented mindset
Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF software; JD Edwards experience is an asset
Established relationships with manufacturers and contractors are considered a strong asset
Technical knowledge of electrical distribution products and solutions is preferred
