Position Summary
The position of Regional Field Trainer (RFT) will lead employee development initiatives through facilitating training events and field educational programs. RFT will help ensure a high level of consistency among all new Traffic Controllers through American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) training and hands on experience as well as Field Supervisors mentorship. The goal of this role is to promote efficiency and competitive advantage by developing the skills and knowledge of employees across a specific region.
Responsibilities
- Conduct, implement and certify new employees in ATSSA, Right Traffic policies and safety standards via in-person and virtual training programs and workshops
- Coordinate training plans and complete administrative tasks relating to training records, budget and attendance reporting
- Perform evaluations to identify areas of improvement by monitoring employee performance of Traffic Controllers and Field Supervisors
- Observe work zones with Field Supervisors to coach and develop Field Supervisors to increase job knowledge and consistency
- Design applicable training materials to promote employee development and foster a learning environment
- Provide support to local and surrounding offices when required by Operations; work may fall outside of normal business hours
- Other job duties as assigned
Skills
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, presentation and public speaking
- Efficient time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, Zoom and other assorted software
- Ability to complete training cycle (assess, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, practices, and criteria pertinent to Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
- Organizational skills and a positive attitude are important qualities that you must possess
- Critical thinking and decision making
Requirements
- High School Diploma, or 2-4 years of related industry experience
- Valid driver’s license, dependable vehicle and must maintain a clean driving record.
- Travel within a 100-mile radius between office(s)
- Proven ability and experience in training, mentoring and motivating team members to increase performance
- Current employees must have a minimum of 1-year of employment with Right Traffic
- Willingness to take on-the-job training and certifications to meet job requirements
- ATSSA (All Traffic Control Certifications), Defensive Driver Training, CPR/First Aid Trainer
