Environmental Management Specialist at BC Energy Regulator
The Environmental Management Specialist (Specialist) supports the BCER’s role respecting protection of the environment by conducting work related to the management of environmental values for air, land, soil, water, wildlife, and/or aquatic habitat. The Specialist’s work includes consideration of cumulative effects and restoration, in the context of the BCER’s regulatory mandate.
The Specialist works to support the Responsible Stewardship Branch and other BCER branches. The Specialist will conduct data synthesis or interpretation, support research and data collection, develop and deliver communications, conduct field activities, and support the development of internal procedures and technical guidance documentation.
The Specialist will work in a learning environment to build technical skills in topic areas related to assigned work or to meet professional development needs.
Please note: This position has a focus on biology.
As a Environmental Management Specialist focused on biology, you will support BCER subject matter experts with application reviews for Energy Resource Activities Act and Wildlife Act permits, on-going implementation of the Ecologically Suitable Species Guideline, legacy well site investigations, and habitat assessments. This position is based in Fort St. John.

Office Location: Fort St John
Salary: $83,312.49 – $94,991.51 – Permanent Full-Time, based on a 35-hour work week.
An additional 10.75% Job Family Market Multiplier will be added to the posted salary.
An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for northern location.
