We need a Dietary Aide to join our Food Services team! As The Successful Applicant, You Will Do The Following

  • Demonstrate a practical knowledge of therapeutic diets to accurately assemble patient meal trays.
  • Participate in tray assembly line operations as required.
  • Deliver meal trays to patients at the bedside and respond to voicemail messages and special meal requests, including late trays.
  • Collect patient tray carts following meal service and transport them to the dish room for processing.
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment in accordance with established procedures, ensuring all tableware is properly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for the next meal service.
  • Process tableware through the dishwasher using standardized loading procedures and maintain adequate supplies of clean dishes and utensils.
  • Handle clean tableware appropriately to prevent recontamination and prepare cutlery bundles for meal service.
  • Assist with light food preparation and ensure food is stored safely to minimize waste and maintain quality.
  • Provide courteous food service to staff, physicians, volunteers, and visitors in the cafeteria as required.
  • Prepare, deliver, and serve catering orders, including those required outside regular cafeteria operating hours.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to food safety and infection prevention practices.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • TrainCan Food Safety Training and Certification
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent

Preferred

  • Previous experience and/or training in food preparation/handling and sanitation in a food service setting
  • One (1) year food service experience in a hospital or long-term care setting
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets
