Join Our Team As An IPD Project Manager

Westcana Electric Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Project Manager – Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) to join our team in Kelowna.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, with a minimum of five years of field experience and demonstrated experience managing electrical projects.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, coordination, and organizational skills, along with an understanding of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) principles. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, trade partners, and field personnel to coordinate project requirements, resolve issues, manage risks, and achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of electrical projects from conception through completion.
• Apply Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) principles to promote collaboration, transparency, shared accountability, and effective project outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, and other trade partners.
• Participate in IPD meetings, coordination sessions, planning activities, and collaborative decision-making processes.
• Review project specifications, drawings, contracts, schedules, and timelines to ensure proper execution and resource allocation.
• Coordinate electrical scope with other trades to identify and resolve design, constructability, scheduling, and coordination issues.
• Manage project budgets, costs, schedules, procurement, and resources to support successful project delivery.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks, delays, cost impacts, and scope changes.
• Support collaborative problem-solving and develop solutions that consider project-wide impacts rather than individual trade interests.
• Review and coordinate design changes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
• Supervise, support, and mentor field personnel, including site supervisors and forepersons.
• Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and Westcana Electric’s safety requirements.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, project partners, and internal teams.
• Provide regular project status updates, cost reports, schedule updates, and other reporting to senior management.
• Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, and efficient construction practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the development and maintenance of positive working relationships within the IPD project team.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, the Canadian Electrical Code, applicable regulations, and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project coordination, cost control, and change management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and successful project delivery.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel.

Experience

• Minimum of five years of field experience in electrical construction or a related field.
• Proven experience managing electrical construction projects, including budget, scheduling, procurement, coordination, and resource management.
• Experience working within an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or other collaborative project delivery environment is considered a strong asset.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Pay: From $90,000 per year
