Role Description
This full-time, on-site Insurance Advisor role is based in Medicine Hat, AB. The Insurance Advisor will work directly with clients to assess their insurance needs, provide recommendations, and offer personal and commercial insurance solutions that align with Western’s commitment to security and value. Daily responsibilities include conducting policy reviews, preparing quotes, processing new applications and renewals, and handling policy changes in a timely and accurate manner. The role involves responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and educating clients on coverage options, underwriting requirements, and claims processes. Insurance Advisors are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and regulations, collaborate with team members to meet branch goals, and contribute to a positive, customer-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Insurance knowledge, including personal and commercial lines, and an understanding of industry regulations.
- Candidates should possess foundational Finance skills, such as basic financial literacy and the ability to explain coverage, premiums, and deductibles clearly.
- Candidates should possess Consulting-oriented abilities, including needs analysis, solution-focused advising, and relationship-building with clients.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on responsiveness, empathy, and resolving issues effectively.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both verbal and written, and be comfortable interacting with diverse clients and team members.
- Relevant provincial insurance licensing (or eligibility to obtain) and previous experience in insurance or financial services are beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with office and insurance management software are assets.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is an asset.
