Position Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with customers in the building construction sector. This role promotes construction and survey technologies and workflows, provides solutions tailored to customer needs, and partners with internal teams to support successful implementation and customer satisfaction. The focus is on growing sales, expanding market presence, and developing long-term customer partnerships. This position is responsible for the Ottawa and Gatineau region territory.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers across the assigned territory.
- Prospect for new business through outbound activity, construction-site visits, networking, and participation in sales programs.
- Promote and sell construction and survey solutions tailored to customer requirements and field workflows.
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical consultations that clearly communicate solution benefits.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and needs discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and close.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend solutions that improve field operations and project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products, software, services, training, and support.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate product delivery, implementation, training, and ongoing customer support.
- Monitor market trends, construction activity, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity information in the CRM.
- Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and account updates for leadership.
- Participate in ongoing product, industry, and sales training.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in technical sales, construction equipment, survey solutions, or a related customer-facing role is a strong asset.
- Construction, surveying, or field-technology experience is considered an asset.
- Understanding of construction and surveying equipment, such as GNSS systems, total stations, laser scanners, or robotic layout tools, is an asset.
- Familiarity with construction and surveying software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble, Leica, or Topcon, is an asset.
- Knowledge of construction procedures and virtual design and construction (VDC) workflows is an asset.
- Strong presentation, product-demonstration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to uncover customer needs and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience using a CRM platform to manage sales activity, customer relationships, and pipeline is an asset.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable managing a territory and full sales cycle.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, construction-site visits, and on-site demonstrations.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred and will be considered a strong asset for this role.
