Waste Connections of Canada is looking for a Front End driver to join the Edmonton Team, who shares our number one core value - Safety. We put our drivers first and we work together by listening, removing barriers, and by providing ongoing coaching and support.


Main Duties


  • Ensure safe operation of a truck, while driving, loading, and loading


  • Drive to customer location for pickup, and position truck safely to ensure a safe lift.


  • Hoist bin onto truck using hydraulic lift.


  • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service.


  • Resolve blocked access, if possible, (e.g., honk horn or call dispatcher/customer; take picture of vehicle blocking access, return for later pick-up).


  • Dump contents at designated recycling facility or landfill.


  • Review run sheet listing calls and identify any potential issues.


  • At beginning of shift, complete a thorough pre-trip inspection.


  • At end of shift, fuel truck and complete a thorough post-trip inspection.

Requirements


  • Commercial drivers’ license is required and must be maintained.


  • Front End Truck driving experience preferred


  • Excellent spatial skills to position vehicle and bins effectively and drive accident free.


  • Effective communication skills to convey information to dispatcher and customers.
