As the Manager, Business Developmen t, you will lead and provide support to auto insurance producers across multiple HUB locations and ensures the delivery of business results and outstanding client service.

This individual will report to the Vice President, Auto Insurance and also work closely with the Vice President, Community Branch Network. This role has the opportunity to be based at the Burnaby Still Creek or Langley Willowbrook office and approximately 40% travel will be required to various HUB service locations.

As the Manager, Business Development, you will:

  • Lead a hardworking and dedicated team of auto producers in providing insurance coverage options for HUB clients

  • Ensure the delivery of business results including client service, client retention, revenue targets and employee engagement

  • Proactively participate as a member of the leadership team to develop and implement innovative business plans and initiatives

  • Travel to different service locations in the Lower Mainland where producers are based and provide support and guidance

  • Implement and maintain best practices in all area of auto business; provide leadership, support and collaborate with other business areas as needed

  • Implement and maintain sales best practices and provide sales coaching with team members

  • Ensure appropriate levels of administration support in place for the team

  • Participate actively in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the department and HUB International

  • Coordinate any procedural changes, communications, reporting and training working with auto insurance producers


As the successful candidate, you will bring:

  • Level 2 General Insurance License

  • 5 years’ insurance industry specific experience

  • 2 years’ experience in management/leadership role, preferably in the insurance industry

  • Individuals with CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM or other industry designations are preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of ICBC and auto insurance business including private auto

  • Experience coaching and motivating sales-focused individuals

  • Outstanding client service abilities

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple demands from different areas

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word

  • Must have access to personal vehicle for business use (mileage reimbursement will be provided)

Department General Management

Required Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience
