Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview


Reporting to the Manager Patient Care or Allied Health, Child Health Program, the incumbent provides secretarial support to the Manager(s) including: typing correspondence, agendas, etc. from rough draft, receiving incoming telephone calls, taking and relaying messages, coordinating schedules, arranging meetings, taking minutes, booking appointments, and booking travel arrangements. May be required to learn and use department specific software and technology.


Experience


  • One year previous related experience required.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.

  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Medical terminology (pass mark 75%).


Qualifications and Skills


  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

  • Typing 50 wpm

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

  • May be required to view, enter data, maintain data bases, excel worksheets or other computer software of the department.
