Job Requirements:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification (please upload certificate or proof of registration in upcoming course to your resume)
  • Light Lifting (up to 20 pounds)

Trained or Willing to be Trained:

  • Toileting
  • Personal Care
  • Behaviour Management Support (Assist with implementation and tracking of behaviour targets, De-escalation strategies, Foster pro-social and conflict resolution skills, Implement calming strategies)
  • Other Medical Related Procedures

Assets:

  • Experience Working with Down's Syndrome
  • Experience Working with Autism
  • A related diploma or certificate from a recognized post secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement will be considered an asset.

Educational Program Assistants are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 5047 (CUPE). The CUPE collective agreement can be accessed by clicking HERE

Rate of Pay:

This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar which includes time off at Christmas, March Break and Summer break.

Daily Hours of Work:

50% Position = 3.5 hours (includes one 15 minute paid break)

80% Position = 6.1 hours (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks)

100% Position = 7.5 hours (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks)
