Job InformationThe Accounts Receivable Clerk position is responsible for billing, invoicing, and collecting receivables for the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. The NTHSSA provides health and social services across the NWT to approximately 43,000 people. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is located in Yellowknife and reports to the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable. Accuracy and timeliness are critical to ensure revenues are received and maintain good relationships with practitioners, clinic staff, and other NTHSSA staff.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organization and time management abilities, and the ability to pay attention to details for accurate data input. They should also have a working knowledge of GAAP, financial administration regulations and policies, business processes, and invoicing policies for health-related organizations. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, financial accounting theory, and an understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations are also important. Lastly, the candidate should possess the ability to mentor colleagues in a positive manner.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of an Accounting Certificate or Business Administration Diploma from a recognized educational institution, combined with two years of related experience; OR 5 years’ related experience, preferably in a public service environment. Medical terminology or medical billing experience is considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is from $36.71 per hour to $43.85 per hour (approximately $71,584 - $85,507) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
