Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
WORK ASSIGNMENT : The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 2112/2113 Sec 50 OR 51, “Development of Canadian Social Work and Social Welfare”. The course will be offered in the Fall/Winter Term, from September 2024-April 2025. For a full course description, please refer to the Dalhousie Academic Calendar. Note: this course is part of the BSW program.
The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system ( LMS ) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements Of Position
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION : Extensive experience in social work (or related fields), as well as knowledge of the history of social work and social welfare and competence in policy analysis, is required. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with on-line teaching.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
