This position reports to the Director of Distribution.
Responsibilities
- Co-manage the overall operations of each respective department including, but not limited to: Metro and satellite shipping, picking, customer pick up support, Inter region transfer, load planning
- Assist in maximizing the cost effectiveness of operations including budgeted operating costs, labour costs, equipment and resource utilization and service expectations
- Ensure exceptional visual detail and space utilization within the department areas and dock space
- Adhere to, actively promote, and monitor all company policies and procedures pertaining to: Core Values, Health and Safety, Operating Standards, Personal Appearance, and Security
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to be used in the completion reports, analysis, and maintaining the overall integrity of the inventory control system
- Achieve financial and operational objectives as set out by the company and maintain adequate resources to achieve the business objectives
- Maintain a proficient knowledge of Shipping/Returns processes and procedures
- Verify and report on inventory
- Process store entry stock transfers
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all stock, stock locations, model numbers, manufacturers specification and handling instructions
- Picking of all product types, put-a-way of all product types
- Ensure accuracy in the generation of reports
- Lifting and moving of product
- Operation of equipment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably Retail
- Computerized inventory control systems (WMS) experience an asset
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, problem solving and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage in a fast paced environment within tight deadlines
- Must have applied knowledge in the safe material handling of product including power lift equipment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required
